We love Chia Seeds in our house! They seem to be all the rage these days.

Chia Seeds have been in use for centuries, some call them the original superfood! They contain high amounts of Omega 3 and Omega 6 fats that support brain health.  Omega fats are shown to balance mood, help elevate depression and loosen plaque in the brain. There are multiple other benefits of adding Chia Seeds to your diet:

Here are the Top 3 ways we use Chia Seeds in our Home
1. Smoothies
Sprinkle a handful of chia seeds in your smoothie.

Preptime 2 min. Serves 2

1 cup Peaches fresh or frozen

1 small slice of Ginger

1 Banana

2 cups of Kale

1-2 Table spoons of Chia Seeds

4 Ice cubes and 1 1/2 cups Coconut or Almond Milk

2. Oatmeal
Do you know how many ingredients are in the oatmeal packets from the cereal isle at the grocery store? Me neither, I lost count a long time ago. Here is what goes into the homemade oatmeal packets we make for our kids!

Measured by packet

1/2 cup of Quick Oats

2 Table spoons of freeze dried strawberries

1/4 cup of Banana Chips

1 teaspoon of Chia Seeds

1/4 teaspoon of Cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon Stevia

Add hot water or Almond milk until desired consistency

3. Salad
Do you ever want a different texture or crunch to your salad without destroying the nutritional content of it by putting bacon bits or croutons on it? With a sprinkle of Chia Seeds you not only layer the texture of your salad but you add nutritional content of your salad too!
