Bugleweed for hyperthyroidism is an herb that can slow down your thyroid.

Do you know how to slow down hyperthyroidism?

It can be scary when your thyroid is too fast.

My heart was racing!

My body was sweating and I was dropping weight at rapid speed. Burning calories faster than I could eat them. After a rather stressful situation, my thyroid became very active and didn’t want to stop.

After looking up all the ways I could support my thyroid I came across bugleweed. This bitter little herb in a dropper was the jackpot for me. I began using it 3 times a day with an extra dose in the evening before bed and soon my symptoms began to fade. Let’s take a look at bugleweed a little closer…

Bugleweed can reduce the thyroid hormones in the bloodstream which has lowered the hyperthyroid symptoms for many people.

Please note this herb can lower the thyroid symptoms, most people are looking to speed up their thyroid but this wasn’t the case with me. So how do you know if your thyroid is too fast?

Here are the most common symptoms of hyperthyroidism:

  • Insomnia
  • Frequent bowel movements or diarrhea
  • Heart palpitations
  • Episodes of sweating
  • Dizziness
  • Quick weight loss
  • Hand tremors and shakiness
  • Thinning hair
  • Muscle deterioration and weakening
  • Light or missed menstrual periods
  • High blood pressure

Take note these symptoms are not the symptoms of a slow thyroid or Hypothyroidism. Those include being cold all the time, tired and brain fog, constipation for example.

The majority of people are dealing with a slow thyroid and I have found it hard to find help for a fast thyroid and have suffered for a while. Thankfully when I started supporting my thyroid and my gut health I saw quick improvements.

Bugleweed contains lithospermic acid, these acids can decrease levels of thyroid stimulating hormone and thyroxin (T4).

Bugleweed can inhibit the binding of antibodies to the thyroid gland. Currently, there are no known interactions when using this supplement. Bugleweed can also have a sedative effect and helps with sleep. It’s best used in conjunction with lemon balm or motherwort. (1)

I don’t want to leave the gut out of this article because it does have a large place in dealing with the thyroid.

Leaky gut can cause inflammation and even lead to autoimmune diseases such as Graves disease or Hashimoto’s.

So if you are dealing with these issues please take some time to read the guide I have made on Leaky Gut.
