Do you know what’s in your drinking water?
Polluted drinking water is being found all over the U.S.
The Environmental Working Group analysis of 20 million tap water quality tests found a total of 316 contaminants — including industrial solvents, weed killers, refrigerants and the rocket fuel component perchlorate — in water supplied to the public between 2004 and 2009.
Since the EPA only regulates 114 of these chemicals, the majority of the other chemicals go unchecked.
We used to live up in Ohio surrounded by corn fields. Every year we would look out the window as the planes flew by spraying all the crops with chemicals. The tractors would roll by spraying the fields again. Year after year our well sat maybe 20 feet from the farm fields. Don’t you think the chemicals get into the groundwater?
As a mom, I want the best for my children. I watch what they eat, how much junk food they consume and I always wondered what was in our drinking water. After I got studying reports from all over the U.S. I was pretty shocked.
I couldn’t fill up a cup of polluted drinking water for my children any longer.
“An analysis found that glyphosate (Round-Up) was present above the limit of quantification in 41 percent of the samples taken from ground water.” -Dr. Mercola
I hear people say “Oh, we have a water softener” well that’s great you have soft water but water softeners do NOT filter out any pesticides, hormones, lead, fluoride, arsenic or any other water pollutants. Water softener’s leave you with polluted drinking water.
Unfortunately drinking city water comes with a new set of chemicals. Most cities use chlorine to essentially bleach the water of bacteria. Studies have shown an increase in rectal and bladder cancer in people who drink chlorinated water. The tap water in our new home smells like we are taking a drink right out of a swimming pool.
Fluoride is added to public drinking water and we are told it is healthy for our teeth. Interesting how the FDA requires a poison label on all toothpaste that contains fluoride. There is enough fluoride in a tube of toothpaste to cause serious harm, even kill you if eaten all at once and we drink it every day in smaller amounts.
Fluoride has repeatedly been linked to reduced IQ even at supposedly “safe” water fluoride levels of less than 4 mg/L (EPA’s “safe” level). -Dr. Mercola
The majority (97%) of Western Europe has rejected water fluoridation. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), tooth decay in 12-year-olds is coming down as fast, if not faster, in non-fluoridated countries as it is in fluoridated countries.
Personal Liberty reports: “A World Health Organization study conducted from 1978 to 1992 showed that Americans living in areas where drinking water was treated with what the Environmental Protection Agency deemed was ‘optimal’ levels [of fluoride] had increased risk of cancer in 23 different areas of the body.”
Knowing the facts about fluoride I no longer felt comfortable giving my children fluoride. Fluoride has polluted drinking water for far too long.
I had to search hard for a filter to remove fluoride, bacteria, viruses, pesticides, lead, mercury and pharmaceutical residue. Most filters you buy at the grocery store, like the counter pitchers, leave fluoride in the water since it is claimed as “beneficial”.
We chose the Berkey Light Water Filter for our family. It’s one of the only filters on the market that not only filter, but it comes out purified. You can even filter out stagnant pond water with this unit. Not that I need to do that right now but…hey, good to know!
I couldn’t be more pleased with this filter. It’s extremely economical since you only need to buy replacement filters once every 4 years with average use!
The water that comes out of this filter tastes fresh and clean. I now have peace of mind that my kids have access to completely clean water. Why bother to buy organic fruits and vegetables if we are going to be drinking pesticides anyway?
This one-time purchase will supply us with clean drinking water for years to come.
